Hi everyone. So, I have been looking at ubuntu 8.04 on my laptop. My Laptop is for want of a better word the best of the el-cheapo. An MSI VR-610. I know, I know, it’s not exactly going to set the world on fire, but I got what i could afford. Now that I’m doing work,i hope to get a better 1 some day soon. It’s good enough for the basics, and ubuntu runs pretty well as a dual boot with vista, and wireless works on both. I am not going to evangelise on the linux side, but it is a usable os now.

i built a intel system not long ago. Going by guides like a Next guide from ages ago and a little from here, a little from there. yeah, it’s a Asrock 4coredD600, It’s ok, an ultimate budget board. i wanted A PVR on linux, like I had on my AMD box, my card worked fine there, but on this mobo and chip(celeron 460), My PVR distro would not install. Went to backup plan, tried mythbuntu, instead of mythdora, installed, but no picture. i don’t know why yet, guessing bad aerial placement(It is stuck below the computer desk,), or a bad config etc.

If i could get mythdora to install i know that I could have everything going out of the box. until my next install, just have to use it as a work box and not a mythtv box. Anyway, i’ll periodically put developments as they arise.

Hi. dudes and crudes. i will spellcheck, otherwise i think i will be fine from now on, i will be less stressed , so less mistakes. Anyway, the comment that ds made on my blog was inappropriate, anyway, I found it mildly annoying my misatkes as well, but wordpress doesn’t allow you to edit your posts, something which i found annoying, i hae used others that do. Anyway, i will be more precious next time.

Hi guyz, Big news about nvidia. Hope they’ll be ok. I want to but a 9600gt. They haven’t had problems have they?. I will be very unhappy if nvidia go. seems all the fanbois getting too hot under the collar. Anyway, we should be thabnkful of the great entertainment we get from a competitive market. Hope intel donm’t do to nvidia what they (almost) did to amd. I reckon you give intel half a chance, they’ll but nvidia and amd/ati. Also think that maybe now would be a good time for nvidia to buy amd. We none of us saw this coming for nvidia did we??

If they are so strong, I have to worry about amd. Although, as i said amd aren’t u nder yet. But, boy it would be a drak day if intel are only chip men in town

Good luck nvidia. Good luck amd, becuase if you’re not careful, intel will eat you

Anywho, hope i can get my n9600gt in 2 weeks, and that nvidia survie for a while yet

Hi Guyz. Yes, well when you are just trying toi get yupour thoughts On papper it is sometimes hard to worry about spelling and absolute royal coorectness. Language is judged as good or bad by it’s peers , noenetheless, I kjnow my spelling wasn’t top notch, but I assure you i was just letting things off my chest, sometimes it doesn’t matter if you are word perfect, all that matters is that you expressed yourself. Hi guys. I have been in touch with thye guys who sell the nnontec medaia enclosure. Not sold anymore!, So I wqill have to revice my media box project. Looking at possible doing it with amd agaian, but I figure If i build it with intelk, i will get some valuable experience,. Hoping to get a computer tech job at 4d data solutions, be going for the second intervierwe this week. I f i get it, I will wait for my fierst pay, and then pick and choose, then price will be(almost) bo object (more…)

Hi guyz and girls again. Wazhim here. Raedf the review of the 4850 Seems awesome. But, I don’t know which will be powerful enought to power my crap dvico hd tuner. I have the 2 2600pros in crossfore and it only just transmits capital, sbs, and abc properly. The 2 other stationx(win and prime) only just get a picture then, it deosn’t play back smoothly at all(this is in canberra, australia). (more…)

Hi again! It’s wazhim here. So gooooood to be baqck!. I couldn’t login to the site for the last 2-3 months because i didn’t follow the links to the change password nlink. Noooow, IO am back. Hi yall it;s wazhim here, posting my first blog!. A warm welcome to all my fellow readers. My current goodie is my athlon x2 4000+ system. It’s almost a year old and is more computer than i’ve ever had before. Went through a fair share of deaed components over the years while i learnt hardware the hard way. (more…)
