Hi yall it;s wazhim here, posting my first blog!. A warm welcome to all my fellow readers. My current goodie is my athlon x2 4000+ system. It’s almost a year old and is more computer than i’ve ever had before. Went through a fair share of deaed components over the years while i learnt hardware the hard way.I have never put cpu coolers on like the one currently reviewed, close to wtarecooling they sya, but in am palnning on reaching that level of proficiency one day. I love to debate amd vs intel, nvidia vs ati, but esp linux vs windows. I think that noone should nbe assuming that amd or intel is gods processor, or saying by a don’t buy b or vise versa.
it all depends on your buyimg history, prefernces in ads ec. Me, I always had intel before , athlom n 64. My only other prior amd system was amd k62 500. I think that was a turing point in histroy. Anyway, between custompc and aussie atomic pc, i get my monthly joy. The enthusiast joint is where the fun is at!. gonna bild a media center box for my room 9in fact tried with little success with old mobo.
I can send shots of its current state, ansd attempt to send updates etc, of when and how i build it. it’s gonna be entry level core 2 duo, I will start with minimal ram, it already has suse 10.1 on it, but i think i will be swapping that for kubuntu 7.04.
I will OC it, get a cooler, its not mymain system.. Bloke at the local shop tells me me 300w aopen psu shoulddoo it
whadda you think, will it be good enough to run core 2 4500, even after OCing?
i’d like to know. My other old goodies are the goodies,(original comedy troop), and me and my nephews mock band(the goodie) which we named in honour of them. Gonna pick upmthe new custompc today !!
should be a smick read
i’ll talk to ya then!
wazhim
hey, that sounds bowt right to me, bt i dont know enouth about overclocking to say acuratly but its usauly very little extra power. i like to know how this goes because i just love reading plogs. giving me ideas for when i finaly get the courage to do my first big build this summer. good luck! and keep blogging. ive never bloged but enjoyed urs
first off, thanks for the comment dude ^_^
ok so, to the debates, for me it goes like this intelk (for amazing architechture) nvidia (for the amazing power and customisability) and as for the windows linux i’ll leave you with a few words of wisdom. “Linux is like a cut throat rasor, windows a normal rasor, and apple is like a bowlling pin, your not going to cut yourself with it, but your also not going to bloody well shave”
tbh if i were you, i’d look into investing in a new MoBo aswell as cooling. You’ve gone right with the dual core, theres no need for quad core, there are no games on the market that acctually use it, and seeing as your not going to use it for gaming i’d stick well clear of the over priced demons.
If your going to OC make sure you PSU and cooling are up to standard, i’d suggest a 300w PSU minimum, and the same coolier as myself (the artic cooler freezer 7, or something like that i can never remember which way around it goes), purely because not only is it one of the best coolers on the market at the moment, its also cheep, and very very quiet.
anyways, nice read dude, look forward to seeing where your going with this
