I got another GPU in the old girl, got fed up with people saying its what lets it down, so bought my GT back off of welshy along with an aqua computer full cover water block. While I had it drained I also chucked in the new XSPC edge, its less restrictive than the fuzion and fits the theme better……

What do you guys think? I cant think of anything else to do to it now…..!

I’m so happy with the way this has turned out, the reservoirs are much better than I could have imagined and look amazing in a dark room.

This has to be my favourite part of the case, has come out SO much better than I thought!

I’m currently working on making the cabling as tidy as possible and I have an LCD here, just trying to decide if it will work with the case….

So, what do you all think of my first build and case mod?

Now the motherboard with all the blocks on…….

I had to mod the Southbridge block slightly to miss the caps nets to it so the file had to come out for that! My PC room looked a tip doing all this - had to get a picture!

BRING ON THE MIRRORS!!!

Now I’ve fitted the floor panel loads of times in the case but on the final mock up the damn leg that goes round the drive bays cracked! I’m gutted, but TBH its got to stay, it took me hours to file and shape that one and it will have to stay for now.

Anyways after that little cry I took some pictures of the top section with all the mirrors in.

Still got to order my PSU but I fitted the lower floor mirror, the first set of fans and the radiator.

I aslo needed to paint my rad to match the case. I ignored some silly requests to paint it red though (you know who you are!)

With that all nice and WHITE I thought I’d bung it in to give you guys an idea before I go putting any acrylic in there. I’m really liking the way its shaping up by now

So we are up to getting all the parts together now and and getting it all in the case. First things first the HDD caddy and the front 120mm fan mount needed sorting.

Right a quick mock up in and this is what the front is going to look like. I’m really loving the white look!

I wasn’t sure if I was going to ’stealth’ the reservoirs but now I’ve seen this I’ve got a fair idea that when this is all lit up its going to look the nuts so I’ve decided to keep them like this.

Right now time for the acrylic.

I ordered quite abit, various sizes as Ive never worked with acrylic before and Im expecting some mistakes. So be gentle Im no Tribal!

Some of the pics still have rough masking tape on them but the acrylic is nice underneath!

I bought a 7900GT card from a friend as this rig wasn’t (at the start) intended for gaming. It came with a waterblock already but I got it cheap because it was full of sludge. A few hours and the missus tooth brush and look what happened….

Once the grime was off I needed to get rid of the dark tarnish of the block so I thought Id try T-Cut, its got a low abrasive in it and it came up great!

While I was there the acrylic top had a lot of little scratches making it dull so I used more T-Cut on that and its now like new!

After cleaning the block again with Articlean 1 + 2 to get rid of any residue I nailed the old girl back together.

Now fully assembled…

Then got the drill out with a 114mm holesaw and set to it. The masking tape actually helped keep the pilot in place which was nice.

Now I’ve got the holes in place to mount the rad I’ll jump to me trial fitting

the radiator. These fans are just for the mock up and will not be used in the final build.

So these are just for you (and me) to have an idea of what it will look like when finished.

1500W PSU needs a bit more support… :O Lucky it’s only for testing!

I couldn’t decide with or with out the grill….In the end WITH was decided on to stealth the Mountain Mods reservoirs, but later on when you see the coolant and lighting in it all makes sense!

Now at this point I had some set ideas in place I wanted to use on the case, and I’d decided on a ‘Heaven & Hell’ theme, as the build progresses you will see it all tie in…I hope!

A dvd bezel or a fan controller just wouldn’t work in my head for the front of the case, so the drive went external but I had to fnd a place to mount the Zalman fan controller…
