I got round to doing some more bits on the case.

I cut a hole in the rear side panel, using my dremel, to allow the 80 mm fan to intake cool air.

I had to do this because i used the original rear side panel to do my window mod, and the panel i was left with didnt give the 80mm any fresh air, with no holes in sight.

I added some rubber edging and some ACRyan mesh that i had left from my side panel, i attached this using a glue gun, as i didnt want to bolt this down.

Its not the cleanest of holes, but it will do, no one looks at this side of the case, so its all good !

I also painted the rear side panel black, so the grey colour didnt show when looking into the case (the spot next to the motherboard tray)
Please excuse the wires, still a bit more managing to do.

The last thing i did was to add some rubber edging on the rear exhaust fan, and then i added some more ACRyan mesh to stop things hitting the fan.

However, the fan makes a horrid noise now, because its pulling air in against the mesh, its not even a high powered fan. So i think i might go back to a normal 120 mm fan grill that doesnt give this noise

And here is a picture of the front of my case for kicks.

Ive also just grabbed a BFG 8800GT 512 from a guy in the US for 110, so that will be a nice upgrade when it comes.

Only a few more things to do

1. Sleeve sata cables black, or buy black sata cables
2. Sleeve the front panel connectors black
3. Sleeve the 24 pin ATX connector, still unsure on this
4. Im also unsure on wether or no to remove the LED’s form the OCZ cooler (your thoughts?)

Thanks for viewing

This is the hole i made for my sata cables and front panel connectors (panel connectors and sata cables need to be sleeved black)

This is the hole i made to run cables from my fan controller behind the bays and out of sight, i couldnt put rubber edging on the bottom because of the CD drive, so it looks a bit sloppy, but you cant see this with the panel on

Reader’s drives got me into modding, i did a few little things on a cheap ebuyer case, but then wrecked the case with a jigsaw, so it was time for a new case.

I chose the cooler master CM 690, because it was cheap, looked great, was HUGE an had great cooling, i also thought to myself, i wont have to mod anything either, because it has so many features.

However i couldnt keep my hands off it for long, i decided to go water cooled, so i had many things to do to the case, and im almost done.

A list of what has been done, and more detailed pictures to be followed:

(please click images to enlarge, sorry for quality)

Painted interior gloss black

Cut out fan grills at the rear, back of motherboard tray and front of the case

Cut a side panel window (this picture has my old hardware installed in the case)

Cut a hole in the HDD bays to hide my pump

Cut some holes in the motherboard tray for cleaner wires

Painted OCZ ram cooler

Painted Fuzion mounting plate

Cut hole in the CD drive bays to route cables

Created a custom Fan controller/monitor

Drilled holes to mount a high CFM fan in the 5 ” drive bays

Swapped out the power LED from blue to white

Sleeved many wires, including individual 6 pin GPU power

Cut holes in the top of the case and on the top mesh to mount an external radiator

Thats the bulk of the mods that have been done.

The components in the pc are:

Intel E2160 @ 3.618 max overclock

Asus P5KC with pencil mod

2 GB OCZ pc6400

ATI 1950 pro

Hiper 530 watt

I still have a few bits that need doing:

Sleeve individual pins of the 24 pin ATX connector

Paint the rear side panel

Cut the rear side panel to allow ventilation to the HDD and rear 80mm fan

Put something black behind the fan controller (foam maybe)

Get rid of the blue led’s in the ocz ram cooler (undecided)

Possibly fill in the power buttons and led’s and add some vandal switches instead.

Ill keep this updated and add more pictures once i get some batteries for my cam

Thanks
