QUADFX IS BAD!

I was looking at the spec’s of the dual processor motherboard, when I noticed that it had an L1 socket. I did some research and found out I couldn’t use it without buying 2 FX chips (180 quidz each). I aslo noticed it was AMD’s No.5 mistake in the core wars on issue 51! It would be DEAD pricey too, I did the math and it would be 600 quid! No way!We got the Crosshair back to the BT Shop and we are going to get our money back after they inspect it. We plan to get another one (from somewhere else, probably Lamdatec) and put it in my machine and get a cheap AM2 motherboard to put the other processor in the other one. The reason is that we can’t get our money back for the second processor. I have completely stripped down the build as I forgot to dust it out. Here is a pic from my lab.

so WHY would u want QUADFX anyway if ur going to use two cores dont go for QUADFX unless ur an idiot (personnally ur an idiot for thinking about it). If u need 2 cpu slots get a server. i think xeons are the top runners atm. Anyway next time u think about something like that ask someone who actually know about pcs to see if its actually a good idea

Yea bit harsh i know i just think Quad Fx should be nuked along with nvidias quad sli and ati crossfire none of the ideas are worth buying at all and was trying to give u the idea of how big of an mistake u had made. Also im still a little unclear what u actually bought did u buy two AM2 processors thinking they could be used with quad fx or ?? Also wondering why cant u get ur money back for the second processor (overclocked ?? ) as along as its relatively new and not damaged in any way (e.g. the headsink on top and the box itself) they have to accept returns as its in your rights to send something back in the allocated time ??

Anyway ALWAYS REMENBER TO RESEARCH BEFORE U BUY otherwise u are going to find that u make more and more of these mistakes and ur bank balance is going to start looking dire.

To be honest i would always suggest the two pc option over using two cpus on one board as even now multithreaded programs are still very very new and rarely make use of even two cores let alone more than that
