DAM! I just found out that the RAM I already have in my exisisting PC is DDR and my motherboard takes DDR2! The reason I hadn’t known this is because the old motherboard was top spec when we bought it and so I presumed it was DDR2. I would have checked the manual but I thought I had lost it. It turns out it was in a drawer in a desk! So, I am going to have to get some new ones. Out with the elite products section of CPC. I want some decent RAM (but not to pricy) so I am going to go for a set of Crucial Ballistix BL2KIT12864AA804. It is a set of 2gb DDR2 RAM rated at PC2-6400 (800mhs) and has latency timings of 4-4-4-12. CPC say they overclock very well too.
My budget branded DDR Ram (Geil Value) held its value when I bought some from overseas and then from Ebay for someone else, so you shouldn’t have any problems selling it for a reasonable sum when you obtain your DDR 2.
