My acrylic case A2 project

So I’ve been working on a custom computer case for design and technology A2, I just wanted to show what I have done so far. It’s not too far off completion, not everything went to plan and some things need to be corrected but I’m nearly there. Some pictures:

I have worked around the idea for a while. I started production some time after christmas (a little behind schedule). I have designed the layers on 2d design and had them cut out with a lasercam machine, not everything turned out exactly right but it hasn’t exactly gone disastrously.

Thanks for reading, till next time goodbye

Hey, thats quality! And, without meaning to sound patronising, its cool that you have great ideas at such a young age (I’m guessing your 17/18 as your doin A/2’s). The innovation is cool! Its only acrylic but it looks wicked how its all come together.

I myself wouldn’t have thought that acrylic had the right properites for a case e.g. brittle, scratchable.. but I guess top notch resources cost a lot of cash… so for what you have had to work with, it looks cool.

Have you put components in it yet? It would look awesome with some water cooling and illuminous coiling tube! haha!

Thanks :D I am 17 (nearly 18). I’ll admit I was a bit uncertain about the use of acrylic, but it’s quite sturdy. And there’s some measurement mistakes (material problems I think, I did the required measurements), but for my first case I think it’s going okay. I’ll post pictures of it with components in when I’ve got to the stage of doing it, I can’t wait, I put in the motherboard earlier :D

Wow, amazing work there - will definitely be keeping an eye on this one. Good photography too.

I did an Acrylic case for AS, bit beefier than that, with 5+10mm acrylic with an Aluminium frame, costs a fortune… mine cost £250 just for te acrylic!

I think it looks funky particularly the left side ‘door’. What stops all the acrylic plates sloshing up and down on the corner rails?

The screws stop anything moving up and down
