Chinese Cabinet Update

Hi Folks,

I’ve had my TV/PVR computer up and running for a while now and it performs well. It has a few shortcomings but I’m overlooking these until funds allow. If anyone else is building a PC/PVR then I hope  some of the things I’ve encountered will be of use. Read more

All the parts arrived last friday. I cannibalized an old server case for it’s motherboard tray by drilling out the pop rivets. I mounted the motherboard to the tray and fitted the CPU, then tried to fit a Zalman HSF, DISASTER! Read more

Chinese TV Cabinet PVR

Hi Folks,

My mod is to build a PC/PVR into the chinese cupboard my LCD TV sits on, my mother-in-law bought me and my wife a lovely LG 32″ LCD TV as a wedding present last year, after reading the manual, I discovered you could connect a PC to it via a DSub connector, I hastily cobbled a PC together out of old bits and soon discovered my antiquated PII 350mhz was slightly pants, after having found a PC that had been dumped in a field that contained a PII 400mhz I hit on the idea of building a PC that was made entirely out of parts that had been either found or donated, ie free.
