Facebook is either the network from heaven which does wonders for your life with your collection of digital friends, or you won’t have anyone else on there than people you actually know. I fell into the latter category and could actually just talk to any of them - hence no point to the Facebook account, which I deleted, or at least deactivated, today.
The last friend who recently joined up and sent an invite is a musician and could list all the same info on Myspace, and I wouldn’t need an account to hear/view his material. So cya Facebook, and maybe I won’t be talked into the next internet fad quite so quickly.
Couldnt agree more. What really got me was when I asked mates for copies of digi photos, only to get the reply, “they’re on my facebook page”. So what? I have a PC to play games, develop websites and generally stay up to date with my interests. I have neither the time nor the inclination to join an online social network. I already have a social network. They’re my mates.

Thanks for that Andrew, I’d already faked my birthday on Facebook and for any other site that requests it that isn’t important, switched it again even though the year of birth is retained. I don’t care about them knowing that I like U2, as long as the important stuff’s gone.
Typical - reactivated to confirm a job tip and one of my friends let me know that whenever you go back and forth, your posted messages within people’s threads also disappear and reappear accordingly.
I’m well rid of it now, but at least I can say I got something out of being on Facebook, even if the application didn’t seem to go anywhere in the end.
