Last night I found myself chasing after dual-core hardware online when I kidded myself that I was less addicted to hardware now than a decade ago. The benefits of buying into Intel’s Core family vs propping up your socket 939 Athlon with the X2 range as a stopgap to upgrading has been covered many times in the magazine, the podcasts and the forums.
Since Savastore.com emailed its newsletter out with special offers on the X2 range at the August Bank Holiday, I visited the site today and looked at their CPU range. What I found (which you can now see ) could be a genuine error, or a prediction of things to come. Either way, I found the implication that Intel was manufacturing Socket 939-compatible Pentiums quite funny, so enjoy.
