The HexSys Cubic PC - Very Nearly Finished!!

Well I had some spare time on my hands today, so I decided to get the case finished. I made a total cock up of the front panel, trying to etch a design into it, so I got a new piece today. I also took delivery of the rad grills and have fitted them to the case. The very last job is to install the lighting system, but I don’t have time to finish that yet.

Here’s some snaps:

I hope it looks good with the lighting installed, and will post some more snaps when I get this done.

Cheers,

Stuart

Looks awesome mate. What fluid are you using? The reservoir looks like its full of tomato juice!

:-) It’s Feser 1. It does look alot darker in the res, the tubes are clear so that’s the true colour you see in the tubes.

Thanks again! Believe it or not, the hardest part of the project was removing the B&Q stickers from the aluminium. God knows what gum they use, but CIF, nail varnish remover, hot water and steam wouldn’t shift the friggin stuff. It took me 2 hours to get all of it off!

Has anyone got any good suggestions for the lighting? I have 2xUV and 1x Blue CCFL’s but want to try something different.

as the coolant is red(i think and hope) i would either go for black lights(if htey exsist) or orange cathodes, or you could jsut put red around, but not blue as blue is like the ‘norm’ now..

green is always good too but with red it doesnt go

anyway, looks very very nice :P

The coolant is purple. It looks quite red in the photo, but thats probably because I took the shots with my phone. I decided to go with just a UV on the top layer, and a blue triple LED laser on the bottom.

It gives quite a good effect but I haven’t managed to get a decent shot with either my camera or my phone as the snaps show up too dark. I need to get some UV paint for the finishing touches now.

Cheers
