So.. This is my first ever blog of any kind and I thought I should try and make it a special one….. Hopefully
This project may never get under way, I have a 2nd interview for a local design firm,I am relatively confident, but if I don’t get it, this project is on hold till I do get a job that pays enough.
This project may be a bit adventurous, or even pointless to many of you, however despite all this, I’m going to love the way it looks and that’s all that matters to me!
I believe it will take me a long time to make this, and so ‘futureproofing’ is one of the main factors as some, maybe even many of the parts will differ when it comes to final assembly. As the title implies, cooling will be a big aim of this system, with a maximum achievable overclock for the components that I get being my goal.

So the system that I am getting rid of to make this monster was built late 2004, the fastest processor out at the time was, roughly, the AMD Athlon FX-55, clocked at 2.6Ghz. It was the last in the range of 130nm CPU’s, and so, on the 27th October 2004 I realised I had to have one. A quick click to Dabs, £569.98, and a few days later I was opening a small parcel containing it, along with:
motherboard: DFI Lanparty nf4 UT Sli-DR Expert (was MSI K8N neo2 Platinum AGP)
graphics card: OcUk nVidia 7900 GTO (was Radeon Sapphire 9800pro)
memory: 4×512Mb OCZ PC-3700 EL DDR Platinum
hard drive: 250Gb Maxtor 7200 + 2x 80Gb Maxtor 7200
psu: Jeantech 700W silent (was some 550W PSU that blew up)
case: Vapochill XE tower (never got it properly up and running, need new mounts)
This system, however, will now give way to something that is four, maybe five times faster and more powerful.
It has begun…
The initial design of this came to me, as all good things tend too…. in bed!? At about 4am of all times. I rolled over and sketched a few lines on the back of something relatively important. This initial sketch, well, four year olds scribble has now been transformed into something much more pleasing too the eye.

And so, in a bit more detail: I shall have to create a case for this project, I am still very unsure on the actual shape that I want, but knowing what has fit inside it is definitely a big help.

Cooling: Vapochill skt775 pack
4 x Swiftech 12V pumps
2 x 8800GTS waterblocks
1 NB waterblock
About the 4 pumps etc… wait and see the designs before asking why. anyway to anyone that has/will read this before i put more, leave me some feedback/idea’s/moans.
