And So…

This would be the end of the first week of running my own IT Business. www.e-z-pc.com has now been trading for 7 days, and already we have had 2 customers, both of whihc provided excellent feedback, I am happy to add.

E-Z-PC.com Limited was my brainchild, and has taken close to 2 years to complete from ‘lightbulb’ idea to an actual certificate of incorporation and formation of a customer base.

I have chosen to blog the progress of my company, as almost 2/3rds of all first-time businesses collapse within the first 12 months of trading, and whether it is a positive or a negative outcome, I want you guys to know about it.

 E-Z-PC.com Ltd offers suppot and servicing to the home user and those of small offices. Our eventual aim is to branch into the contracting world and offer services for larger corporations, however, the ‘testing the water’ period has only just begun. A positive start has been had by the company, with 2 paying customers wihtin 7 days of trading, both booked online using the website form and PayPal integration.

What sets my thoughts of business apart from anyone, I feel, is that people believe you need to have a degree or a huge debt to begin a business, and I, along with many others, im sure, have proved that no matter what your status, you can start to make a living under your own management.

The company formation, including setting up a website, hosting, virtual payment terminal, mobile phone contract & much more has all been done on a budget of £400 and I am happy to announce it was completed at around £380. This money was saved prior to the project beginning, so therefore E-Z-PC.com Limited has begun trading ‘in the green’, surely it can only be onwards and upwards.

 Website design was completed by a close friend for a few pints of beer, he is a professional web designer, so I trusted his abilities and abused his skills accordingly. The only thing left for me to do was fill in the content, and then use my own skills to integrate a virtual payments terminal to the website at my administrator end so that I may take credit/debit card payments.

After this, advertising has currently been by free adverts in newspapers, word of mouth, business cards (produced by my trustee home PC and old ink-jet - they look very smart) and friends bragging in the pub that their mate is a ‘Managing Director’ at the age of 23!

 Excellent…another order has come through on the new iPhone (an excellent mobile business companion), I shall let you know how it all goes.
