Things are really starting to take shape now. The case is made (from the mould) and we spent all day today cutting the various holes in it and making some brackets for the hard drives. Check out the pics (click for full size), its actually starting to look like a computer case!!!
Main body of case - gell coated in mould
Lid of case - gell coated in mould
Lid - layed up with glass
Main body of case - front of mould
Main body of case - partly glassed
Main body of case - resin being applied

***Left to set overnight***
Main body of case - being removed from mould
Radiator fan holes being cut from front panel, done using a disc cutter which is similar to a dremmel but powered by an air compressor so it’s rather powerful!
Main body of case - holes all cut
Front view of case - radiators, power/reset buttons, dvd drives and usb port holes all cut out
Rear of case - motherboard I/O, PSU and 2x exhaust fan holes cut out
Case with lid resting in place - it fits really well and will sit flush when the flanges are added tomorrow. You can also see the perspex window hole above where the motherboard will sit.
Well thats it, we’re almost there. The finishing touches will be applied tomorrow morning and then after a quick wash down I’ll be able to put my hardware in it!
I’d love to hear what you guys think of it so please leave some feedback!
Cheers,
Doggeh.
