I have removed the vents on the side panel as they were not flush against the side panel so this would increase the difficulty in handling the jigsaw when I get round to cutting out the window on the side panel.

These arrived in the post this morning. They are going to be attached to the side panel to give the classic car vent look.

And this gives you an idea of how big they are in comparison to the side panel:

And this is just to give you an idea of what the front panel looks like at the moment:

I have been working on mounting the fan behind the front panel and I have just finished drilling out the holes and they seem to line up ok. Sorry about the incredibly out of focus holes.

And finally…. here is my brand new Scott Profile 2 Half Mask with filters, so now I can be completely safe when painting and priming and filling and I don’t have any excuses not to go outside and start painting, oh wait its still a little chilly.

Well that is it for now, I hope to get some more work done very soon and I will make sure I post up what I have done. But in the meantime, farewell.

So I have 500ml of Grey Primer, 500ml of filler primer, 600ml of Rover Brooklands Green, assorted 240-1200 grit wet and dry and some 1500 grit aswell just to make sure. (I know I will need more paint in the end, but this is at least a start)

Anyway, now onto the priming before the painting:

This is the filler primer.

After that I found some of the cracks and marks on the surface and put a bit of filler over them to smooth them out, once that was all sanded down it was time for some grey prime:

So that is it so far, there are still some marks in the primer so I will take a bit more filler to it and one coat more of grey primer should be enough and then onto the green.

So there you go, as I say a little bit of touch up work needed and then it will be ready for priming and painting, but I will probably do a little bit on the side panel first.

Anyway, here are my designs (which I have previously posted here under a different project name):

Ok, so you can see what I am aiming for with my mod and the case that I am going to be modding is the Coolermaster Centurion RC-534 as it fitted in pretty well with the designs and also, as it is my first mod I wanted to find something pretty cheap so that I wouldn’t feel too sad if it ended up in teh dustbin. However, there are plenty of cheap cases out there but not so many with a quality brand like Coolermaster and I am not bothered about PSUs anyway because I will probably want something that won’t just blow up on me. Anyway, here it is: (sorry about pic quality as I am limited to a camera phone atm.)

Right, time to start modding…. My first (and so far only) port of call is the front bezel and sorting out the fan hole that I want, as you can see there is currently no place for the fan. So, I took out both the HDD enclosures to allow for easier cutting of the chassis when I get round to it. Now then, the front bezel actually comes in two parts a plasticy bit at the back, which held the now non-oncase power and reset switches, and then the brushed aluminium plate which you can see. Once I had cut away all the power switch stuff I realised that if I wanted to mount the fan on the outside of the chassis, rather than it being in the way of the HDD enclosures, I would have to cut out more of the plastic stuff. This I did and now the fan sits flush behind the aluminium. Now I will show you the front bezel with the hole cut out of the front:

So, that is all I have done so far, next stage is to do a bit of filling work on those rectangles to complete the circular hole and then work on the turbine look of it. The fan sits very close to the edge of the aluminium so it remains to be seen as to whether I not I can fit some sort of mesh to it, otherwise it will have to be left as a death trap to passing mice.
