I have just had the frankly easy job of putting a PC together for my dad to use downstairs. I had some (dated) parts lying around, so I decided to use them. The build was flawless, with it going together. However, it was the software side where things went wrong. Apart from the XP CD reckoning that a PGA370 Celeron was a 486DX, and that I had 16mb RAM, it mostly went well. Until I came to enter my Product key. It was an OEM copy of XP thawas brand new, not been registered with anything else.
It told me that my CD was Bit-Torrent special and that I ought to be ashamed of pirating a copy of Windows. A quick phonecall to Microsoft, and I was away. I got Xp installed OK, and installed my pack o’ Utils, which I make and store safely on a CD. It’s just a webpage on a CD, where the download links are links to the files on the CD. It includes AVG8 Pro, Spybot S&D, Office XP etc…
It all installed well, and I am runnig Automatic Updates now. 96 Updates to instal! As I am typing on the PC now, it has been on for half an hour and it is up to number 80.
Anyways, I gotta go because, in the words of Weebl, ” I gotta do a toilet”.

I’ve just finished my Year 9 SATS. They truly are the most miserable thing in the history of ever. I mean, the people who wrote them were so fed up they went and played on F.E.A.R, because it said “Alma put 20mg of…”. That nearly made me bust out lauging in the exam, and nearly made our clan as well!
The clan, some of you may know, is a UT2004 one with 6 members so far. We usually have tournaments over the school’s network (1 gigabit of pure UT-ness baby!), but sometimes I set up all the PC’s in our house and we have an online n00b-fragfest.
Had my CRF250 in bits this week. It was losing about 500ML of oil. We thought that it was the balacing shaft seal, as on a CRF, the engine oil is in a different “side” from the gearbox oil. It takes 700 ml each side, and I was getting 200ml out of one side, and about 1 litre out of the gearbox side. But my dad has a CRF450 and his doesn’t loose oil. He said it’s because I rev mine more than he does.
The build quality on a Honda is simply amazing. The engine is all neat inside, they fall to bits and fall back together if you get what I mean. In other words, they are a joy to work on and are very easy. Got the new seal in, and that seems to have sorted it so far, I’ll just have to see what else happens…
I finally completed F.E.A.R on the highest difficulty this MONTH! It’s still an awesome game, that when I completed it I kept starting a new game just so I could be scared sh*tless again! Even then, I completed it using my Athlon XP rig and a Radeon 9200 Pro, with the Computer setting set to maximum (god knows how it coped so well!) and graphics set to medium and still getting highs of 40fps. It once dipped to 23FPS, but the game seemed to play just fine to me…
Anyways, I’m off now. I think I need a sit-down

I’ve spent a LOT of time on Xbox live this week. I’m amazed at how many cheats, aimbots and l33t kids are on it. It took me 5 attempts to make a Gamertag (BTW it’s l33tBally) which leads onto a Gamerscore which leads onto Gamerpoints or something. Halo 3 isn’t anything near as easy as Halo on the PC to set up. First, you get paired to a person in the same rank as you. Personally, I had 3000 Gamerscore’s and I got paired with some majorly l33t fragger. He won something like 30-4!!
CPC was right though, when they said in the PC vs Consoles issue. ” Give any good console gamer a keyboard and mouse and they’ll be better.” (or at least that’s what I thought it said lol) I plugged a USB mouse into the XBOX 360 and a keyboard stolen from my sister and made me at least 1,243,78 times better!!! It just moves more fluidly with the old WASD and mouse combination… Topped a couple of games (Albeit only just!) and that proved it to me.
Where the controller comes through, though, is Racing games. I’ve just got off the XBOX playing Forza Motorsport over LIVE. I was up to 240 (20 for every race) points in an hour before I left. Any person who plays a PC racing game will agree that it is better and easier to control.
Anyway, I’m racing again this weekend. It’s at a track called Topcliffe. It’s one of the best tracks in the AMCA to me, and I bet that I’ll get a top ten finish!!

Just got home from school. Walked in and my mum said “Don’t be going on that internet…We’re getting rid of it!”
WHAT!! She only wants that because she can’t use it. That’s what does my head in. n00bs who can’t use something get rid of it. It’s the same as my dad only he likes the internet. He’ll sit on the Net all day but show him a graphics card and he’s straight away.
Got a new TV today though!!! It’s a Toshiba 42″ beast. Still a CRT, but it’s HD up to 1080p and it has one of the biggest sound systems in the history of man.
Modded my XBOX motherboard (NOT A 360!!) to incorporate 2 USBS (pics coming soon) so now I can use XDSL and QEMU with a mouse and keyboard. Ah, that reminds me. If anyone has a USB keyboard that’s beeing thrown away or just free to a good home, I’m a good home

Werhoo! I’ve finally got around to making a new blog. And I’ve finally got around to building a new PC. C2Q , the usual stuff. Runs Vista like a fool though. I’m gonna put XP on it and run the CPC benchmarks.
I won the races this weekend! It was at Seaton Ross (http://doubletake.fpic.co.uk/p46443852.html) in the 125 Juniors Under 17’s!
